Teleseminar - Tips and Frequently Asked Questions

What is a teleseminar?

It's a course taught over the phone. So you can join other students from the comfort of your home or on your cell phone as your waiting to pick up your kids from soccer practice.

1.     Whenever possible, use a land line phone rather than a cell (mobile) or cordless phone. Static from one phone is annoying; static from a bunch of phones during a teleseminar can cause real problems.

2.     Be aware of background noises - pets, phones, heavy breathing, etc.

3.     Disable your call waiting feature before you call the bridge number (this is usually done by dialing *70 then the number, but you can check with your phone company to make sure)

4.     Turn off ringers on other phones/fax machines in your office or the room you’re calling from, if at all possible.

5.     If you're sitting next to a computer, please mute the volume.

6.     Identify yourself when you speak during the class.

7.     Call in a few minutes early so the class can start on time.

8.     If you don’t want to talk, press the mute button on your phone to just listen.

How do I sign up for the teleseminar?

If you have any questions, you can call 217-253-9355 and ask for Ellen or write down the phone number and access code from the advertisement.

Are there any "hidden fees"?

Not through us, but your phone company might charge you for a long distance phone call, so you might want to check with them.  With the bargains available, you should not be paying over $3.00 for the call. If you are, ask around about one of the 10-10 numbers. You don’t have to sign up, just dial the number and you pay a low rate for the call, usually five cents per minute or less.

What do I do after I register?

We recommend you put a post it note near your phone to remind you when to call and what number to call.

What number should I call?

Relax. We make this as easy and stress-free as possible. We will send an acknowledgment with the date, time and phone number to call, the day before the teleseminar if you wish; all we need is your contact info or just post the number and access code from the ad next to the phone. You also need to know that you should call five minutes early so you won’t be interrupting us by dialing in late.

How many people can participate?

The first 44 people to call will be able to participate. Our special “bridge line” can accommodate only 44 people.

What if I’m can’t attend the teleseminar. Will you repeat it?

We might have an audio copy available in the future.
